What's New
Life has slowly been returning to normal and I again have some time
to work on pictures. The Moab trip pictures are
up (http://www.mountainstorm.com/travel.html).
The 23 pictures in this set show some
of the stark beauty of the Colorado River, as it
winds through Utah and into Lake Powell.
There are a couple of new pictures in the galleries and I will be adding
more this week. It is nice to be back working on
images and making prints. Some of the new pictures
will be on display right after Thanksgiving, at
Wells Fargo Bank in downtown Denver. The exhibit
is slated to begin the Monday after Thanksgiving.
You can also find some of my images in the web galleries on the Center
for Fine Art Photography web site.
Where in the World is Mitch?
I plan to do a couple of day shoots in Rocky Mountain National
Park and Mt. Evans this month. Mid-week the tourist traffic
is not too bad, and most tourists don't get up for sunrise. Fall
River road is open in the park and that is always a good shooting
run. Lots of elk, marmot and, occasionally, big horn sheep. Mt.
Evans is home to a good size herd of dahl sheep and there is
a really interesting bristle cone pine forest about half-way
up. If the weather cooperates, there should be some great shots
out of these day trips.
At the very end of September, Susan and I head for the coast
of Maine and Acadia National Park. A week after returning from
that trip, it is off to China for four weeks.
Picture of the Month
While in New York City this past March, I had a day free to
just wander around. Park of my walk took me through Central Park.
It was mid-March and trees were just beginning to think about
budding and some early blooms were on the branches.
This month's picture, Bridge in Central Park, was taken near
the south side of the park, near the skating rink. It was one
of those clear, sunny days, with good light, not a lot of people
around and a chance to explore lines, shape and color with the
camera.
